Mark Bailey, Sr. on the addition of Philip Haught:
We are thrilled to welcome Philip Haught to The Bailey Group as a Business Development Coordinator. Under his direction, Haught Financial Group thrived in the employee benefits space in North Florida for over 33 years.
We could not be more excited to have Haught Financial Group our team. The foundation of their business meshes seamlessly with ours and that is a direct reflection of the quality of Philip’s leadership.
Now, take a moment to get to know Philip in his own words.
Before The Bailey Group
It was 1974 when I earned my BBA with a major in Finance from the University of Cincinnati. After college, I was commissioned as a United States Naval Officer where I completed a 3 year tour aboard a salvage ship as a Diving and Salvage Officer, as well as a Project Officer for the Supervisor of Diving and Salvage in Washington D.C.
After my tour of duty in the Navy, I completed my MBA, then went to work for 10 years in the paper industry. I worked the first 5 years as a Plant Controller for Container Corporation of America, and then 5 more years as a Regional Controller for Graham Jones Paper in Jacksonville.
Discovering The Bailey Group
I have known about The Bailey Group as a respected competitor for many years. I approached Mark Bailey, Sr. in 2013 to explore the joining of our two agencies.
What appealed the most about about joining the Bailey Group team was that they seemed to offer the same value proposition of quality service to all of their clients which we offered to our clients at Haught Financial Group.
Outside of The Bailey Group
I am a current JAHU member, President of the Perimeter Park Office Association, and a past Deacon of the Mandarin Presbyterian Church.
I participate and coordinate in my churches commitment to feeding the homeless thru the Salvation Army. I am active in a men’s outreach program through our church in a group called “Mugs” (Men Under God’s Service), through which we perform a variety of maintenance and repair functions for the members of our church who are elderly, widowed, single moms, etc. I also have been singing in our church choir for the last 18 years.
I enjoy traveling with my wife Loretta to both the mountains and the beaches, but usually defer to her preference for warmer climates. The Sandals resorts are personal favorites of ours. I enjoy staying fit, in efforts to keep up with my marathon running spouse (although running is not my forte). The gym is more my speed.
I like anything outdoors: scuba diving, snow skiing, hiking, golf (although not a golfer), and horseback riding. I love spending time with our collective family of 7 great kids, 6 wonderful grand children and our sweet golden retriever, Molly.
